Education

Everything you wanted to know about Third World debt but were too afraid to ask – in a short handbook.

What is Third World Debt, how did it come about and why do so many people feel so strongly that it should be ‘dropped’? And what does it have to do with the recent financial crisis or the ‘credit crunch’?

This new booklet is aimed at students studying for GCSEs, A-levels, or even under-graduate degree level – and it’s an interesting way for others to learn about Third World debt too.

Complete with illustrations, graphs, cartoons and more, the handbook looks at the way the international lending system has made life better for some – but much much worse for many more. And that same lending system is also behind the latest financial crisis which is gripping the whole world.

Surely it has never been so critical to understand the global financial system, how it works, why it needs to be different, in what ways people across the world are trying to change it, and where you fit in?
