The Big Give Christmas Challenge

A Big Thank You to everyone who donated during the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

biggivethankyou-frontlarge

A total of 324 people donated during the course of the Challenge, and we made it to our target of doubling £12,500 to £25,000 with about 14 minutes to spare! Every donation large and small has helped put the campaign in a great position for 2016.

If you didn’t manage to get your donation doubled, it’s not too late to support our work. You can make a one-off donation or set up a regular donation now.

Plus if you want to do more to support the campaign, make sure you write to your MP about the threat of a New Debt Trap in the global South, if you haven’t already.

Thank you again to everyone who donated – and for all your support.

About The Big Give

WHAT ARE WE FUNDRAISING FOR?
We’re raising funds for our campaign to avert a new debt crisis in the global South. Vital public services in developing countries like healthcare, water and education are being threatened by rising debt levels and the risk of a new debt crisis. This project will sound the alarm on the new debt trap and its threat to poverty alleviation and sustainable development.

HOW DO I DONATE?
The Big Give starts at 12 noon on Friday 4 December. You can donate by going to the Jubilee Debt Campaign page on The Big Give website.

I TRIED LAST YEAR BUT MATCHED FUNDS RAN OUT TOO QUICKLY!
In previous years we were in competition with other charities for matched funds, so they sometimes ran out very quickly. But this year that won’t be a problem – we are running the slightly different ‘Private Matched Funding Challenge’ which means there is a fixed pool of matching funds (£12,500) available to match donations to the Jubilee Debt Campaign. You will be able to make a matched donation at any time (except between midnight and midday on Saturday 5 December) until we have reached our target.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF IT SAYS THE CHALLENGE IS ‘PAUSED’?
The challenge will be paused between midnight on Friday 4 December and midday on Saturday 5 December. This is to co-ordinate with the rest of the Christmas Challenge in which many other charities are taking part. If you try to donate during this period, you will be invited to return at midday on Saturday 5 December to make your donation.

From midday on Saturday 5 December, the challenge will stay open until our target is reached (or 5pm on Monday 14 December, whichever comes sooner).

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF IT SAYS THE CHALLENGE IS COMPLETE?
If we reach our target of £12,500 of donations (doubled to £25,000), our challenge will be marked complete and further matched donations will not be possible. However, you will still be able to make an unmatched donation.

HOW WILL MY DONATION BE DOUBLED?
Donations will be doubled from pledges already made by Jubilee Debt Campaign supporters.

WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO DONATE ONLINE?
You will need a debit or credit card and a working internet connection.
