Responding to the publication of the government’s green paper on welfare reform, Heidi Chow, Executive Director of Debt Justice said:
“Slashing the disability benefits budget is both cruel and pointless. People with disabilities are already more likely to be in debt, especially in the face of soaring cost of essentials. The government needs to reverse its vicious cuts or risk plunging even more people into unpayable debt and poverty.”
